The Seventh SWJTU Culture and Art Festival—“Our Action in Fighting the Pandemic”  Exhibition

From October 1 to 30, the Art and Design Exhibition themed at “Our Action in Fighting the Pandemic” was successfully held. The exhibition was a part of the seventh SWJTU Culture and Art Festival under the theme “Melodic Dreams” and sponsored by Student Affairs Department of Party Committee and School of Architecture and Design, aiming to commemorate the 71th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and carry forward the splendid traditional culture of Chinese nation and showcase the cultural value of SWJTU.

The seventh SWJTU Culture and Art Festival was an effort involving the whole school to build a top-level brand under the Proposal on enhancing university aesthetic education in the new era by Ministry of Education（Jiaotiyi No. [2019] 2) and the Plan for promotion of aesthetic education integrated in overall cultivation (Xijiao No. [2019] 241). It aimed to promote the aesthetic and humanistic quality of student, help them develop rightful aesthetic ideas, morality and spirit, and improve their cultural awareness and sense of responsibility. Otherwise, it played an active role in extending the fine traditions of the Chinese culture, revolutionary culture, advanced socialist culture and the national idea of aesthetic education.

In this exhibition, works of Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy and other types all serve as a miniature of great spirit of combating the COVID-19 epidemic: taking life first, showing solidarity, respecting science and sharing the same destiny. These inspiring works featuring both traditional and contemporary characteristics, were seen as a great praise to the new era, newly-made achievements and a promising future.
